Sahyadri produces cold-pressed oils using the traditional Kacchi Ghani method, handcrafted with care and rooted in heritage. They needed a design system that could visually reflect this craftsmanship in a premium, modern retail context.
Summary
Sahyadri Cold Pressed Oil is not just an edible product—it’s a symbol of purity, authenticity, and tradition. Crafted through the time-honored Kacchi Ghani system, the brand needed packaging that told its story without relying on clichés. We were asked to build a visual identity that could instantly convey the handmade care behind the oil, while holding its own in a highly saturated FMCG market filled with loud claims and generic aesthetics.
Challenge
Despite the brand’s deep roots in heritage techniques and superior quality, Sahyadri struggled with how to visually communicate its value in a retail environment full of lookalikes. The task wasn’t to educate, but to evoke—to create a premium feel without having to say “premium.” There was also a need to make the product look differentiated yet accessible, rustic yet refined.
Solutions
We leaned into the texture of tradition—literally. Using textured watercolor paper as a base, we created designs that felt warm, organic, and human. Every brochure, label, and catalog featured brushy strokes and hand-applied watercolor effects, communicating the handcrafted nature of the oil. The rustic elegance of the material palette paired with a modern visual language helped strike the perfect balance. The result was a packaging and branding system that not only stood out on shelves but resonated emotionally—achieving both visual distinction and consumer trust.
